King’s Lynn Town manager Adam Lakeland has completed his squad for the new National League North season with the signing of a midfielder. The Linnets have brought in Stockport County midfielder Cody Johnson on a loan deal until the start of the new year. The 19-year-old has spent time on loan at Banbury United, Scarborough Athletic and, most recently, Rochdale.Manager Lakeland said: “I’m pleased that we’ve managed to get Cody on board.”We’ve been trying to get him here for several weeks now, but it’s taken a little longer to get completed than we thought.”I think it’s important that we brought another midfield player in.”He naturally plays underneath the ball, he’s very good in possession, always wants the ball, and has the defensive brain in the middle of the park. “He holds his position very, very well, and he’ll give us extra competition in places where we felt we needed that type of player within the group. I’m looking forward to working with him.” On joining the club, Johnson – Lynn’s tenth new arrival of the summer – said: “I’m buzzing to get going at such a big club in the league and hope to kick on, get minutes in and enjoy myself.”Johnson is available for selection for the club’s opening league game at home to Warrington Town on Saturday.
