King’s Lynn were on the end of a powerhouse Ipswich finale as they went down 57-33 to the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership leaders at Foxhall on Thursday. The depleted PSH Environmental Stars put up a good effort for much of the contest in Suffolk as they were level on the night after Heat 6 and still only eight points adrift with six races to go.But the Witches then showed their strength as the Stars ran out of options, and successive 5-1s in Heats 12-14 helped to give the score a more emphatic look for the home side.Emil Sayfutdinov scored a 12-point maximum for Ipswich whilst for Lynn Jan Kvech showed up well on his first visit to the venue with 11 points.Lynn skipper Niels-Kristian Iversen again worked hard for double figures, and Anders Rowe battled away for seven at reserve.Stars manager Rob Lyon said: “I thought we did well in the first half of the meeting considering what we’d got tonight, and as a team we held in there quite well.“But as always is the case with these types of meetings when you are under-strength, you lack quality in areas where you need it, and you’re going to run out of steam, which is what happened. I would say it’s pretty much a predicted type of scoreline. “Jan rode very well to win his first two rides, he was good value and so was Niels, and Anders rode well. All the boys put the effort in, I certainly can’t fault that. “We know it’s not a good situation, but we have to move on to Monday and look to get all three points against Leicester.”Stars had a perfect start to the meeting when Witches guest Scott Nicholls was disqualified from Heat 1 with Iversen and guest Simon Lambert racing to a 5-1 in the re-run.It was a lead they held through to Heat 5 with Kvech taking an impressive win over Danny King and Adam Ellis in Heat 3, before that combination put Ipswich ahead with maximum points in their second outing. Kvech made it two out of two as the Stars levelled the scores in Heat 6 as he defeated Nicholls with Patryk Wojdylo third, but Ipswich then banged in back-to-back 5-1s to take control with Iversen unlucky in Heat 8 when he came down on the second bend. The Dane hit back to win Heat 9 ahead of King and Ellis, but Ipswich then turned up the heat with a couple of 4-2s to extend their lead to 12 points, and they then dominated the next three races. Reserve Jordan Jenkins took the double scalp of Iversen and Kvech in a 5-1 with King in Heat 12, followed by an expected maximum in Heat 13 and another full score from Ellis and Keynan Rew in the next.Kvech and Iversen shared the points in Heat 15 behind Ellis as the Witches gave Dan Thompson an opportunity in that race with the result in the bag. That clash with the Lions at the Adrian Flux Arena at least offers increased guest options for the Stars as they look for another win on their own track, with Ellis and Chris Harris booked to stand in for Lynn.Ipswich 57: Emil Sayfutdinov 12, Danny King 10, Adam Ellis 9+4, Keynan Rew 9+1, Scott Nicholls 7+1, Jordan Jenkins 6+1, Dan Thompson 4+1.King’s Lynn 33: Jan Kvech 11, Niels-Kristian Iversen 10+2, Anders Rowe 7, Simon Lambert 3, Patryk Wojdylo 2+1, Lewis Kerr 0, Benjamin Basso r/r.Ipswich win the aggregate point
