Linnets boss Adam Lakeland expects Bart Cybulski to thrive and has backed the youngster to be a key player during Lynn’s forthcoming National League North campaignCybulski has impressed in the early stages of pre-season and scored two goals in a 3-2 win at Stamford on Saturday to take his tally to three goals over the summer. The 21-year-old found the back of the net nine times last season but found the going tough as Lynn battled against the drop for much of the campaign.”Having Jonny (Margetts) and Gold (Omotayo) in there as experienced players and prove goalscorers will take the pressure off Bart a bit,” Lakeland told the club’s media channels.”Last year when he came in he was our only fit, recognised striker and for a young lad to carry the weight of everyone expecting him to score goals is tough but I thought he dealt with that incredibly well at times.”I think he can come on a lot this season by having that competition for places and having those experienced players alongside him who he can learn a lot from.”There was some really good link-up play at times between Bart, Jonny and Ross (Crane) and I think he was so eager to get his hat-trick that he had better options to lay the ball off, but that’s just his enthusiasm to score goals, which isn’t a bad thing.” Jonny Margetts was also on target against his former club early in the second half as Lynn came from behind to win in Lincolnshire. “I thought it was a brilliant game for us,” admitted Lakeland afterwards.”They’re a really competitive side and one of the best teams in the league below. It was our toughest workout so far.”I was disappointed with the goals we conceded again but I thought their goalkeeper was outstanding in the first half. “We went in 1-0 down at half-time and the lads were a bit dejected but their goalkeeper has made three, maybe four, brilliant saves.”The second half we played some really good football at times. We had to change shape and I thought we looked good when we switched which gives us a bit of food for thought.”We scored three good goals and could have had one or two more.”
