Swaffham pairing marches on in Foursomes

A pairing from Swaffham Golf Club has their sights set on reaching the final of a national golf competition.Janet Allan and Cathy Earle have defied the odds to make it through to the latter stages of the Daily Mail Foursomes.The Swaffham representatives recorded an excellent 3&2 win away at North Shore Golf Hotel at Skegness to book their place in the sixth round of the competition.Having never entered the competition before this season, the Swaffham pairing had no idea of the enormity of the event – but now they’ve had a taste of it they want to go all the way.Earle, whose career on a golf course started with lessons in her early 20s, said: “Taking part in the competition has improved our golf because we’re very focused and it’s nice to meet nice people to play against.”Jan is pretty consistent on her fairways and that’s excellent because I know that if I hit a duff fairway Jan’s going to hit a good one. It’s things like that, I think, that make a good partnership.”
