Beth Usher was one of the stars of the F2 stock car white and yellow grade meeting which took place at King’s Lynn last Saturday.Usher picked up her first piece of silverware with a fantastic drive in the opening heat which saw her come in second place. It was a great drive on a very difficult track after Saddlebow Road had been hit by a monsoon moments before the race started and whilst the tricky conditions caught many out, it didn’t stop the local driver from shining.Ryan Leeks also went well and experienced his best night since moving into the formula as he managed to keep the car on all four wheels and had a tremendous fourth place finish in the opening race.Jake Banwell also doing well to come home in eighth whilst Ben Cole and Mark Gilbert also put in strong performances despite failing to feature in the top ten all night. We had no drivers in the top ten in the final where a dominating drive by Middlewich’s Kyle Taylor saw him win the feature by almost half a lap.Kieran Bowman was flying in the Unlimited Banger War of the Worlds team meeting which saw him lead the Predators to win the title. It was very much a captain’s performance as Bowman won the opening heat before coming second in the second heat and fourth in the final before bagging plenty of entertainer points with a good performance in the Destruction Derby.Ashlun Woods who was leading the Unlimited Banger World of Shale qualifying points going into the meeting started off well with a sixth place finish in the opening heat but ended up rolling his car all the way down the back straight in the second race which got ten out of ten for artistic impression from the judges but unfortunately failed to score him any more race points!Norfolk’s Matt Newson had a decent night in the F1 stock cars finishing in second place to World Champion Tom Harris in the opening heat before winning the Grand National.
