Young cricketers from KES Academy proved hard work pays off after stepping up to the crease for a county tournament. The under-14 girls have been sharpening their skills during weekly coaching sessions with the Norfolk Cricket Board over the winter and spring as part of the girls’ cricket programme. And their efforts paid off earlier last week when they won all five games to be crowned Norfolk Schools champions at Horsford.Ben Skipper, who took the girls to the tournament, said: “The girls played with great passion and determination in all of their matches.”They played five other schools and it is a great success story of working hard, getting coached, putting in the hours and developing.”They are great role models and the school is proud of their achievement.”Some of the girls are playing for clubs such as North Runcton and Narborough and KES Academy is planning to maintain its close ties with the Norfolk Cricket Board going forward.
