Rising Star hails atmosphere after back-to-back wins

King’s Lynn’s Rising Star Anders Rowe has hailed the growing team atmosphere as the Stars finally make their mark on the 2024 season.Rowe kept up his own solid personal campaign in Monday’s impressive win over Oxford, a meeting which saw all seven home riders win at least one race.They are still lacking a No.1 rider in the absence of Tobiasz Musielak, although Richard Lawson has guested to good effect in the last two meetings at the Adrian Flux Arena, but after a troubled start to the campaign the rest of the Stars’ septet is now functioning well.And that includes Czech newcomer Jan Kvech, who delighted the crowd with his debut display against the Spires where he scored nine points.Rowe said: “It’s good to have a full one-to-seven, I know we’ve got guests at the moment at No.1 but Richard did a good job there.“We have a good team atmosphere going and Jan came in on Monday and straight away he worked well in the team. It’s really good fun at the moment.”Rowe is statistically one of the top Rising Stars in the Premiership, and his combination with Patryk Wojdylo at reserve is frequently a source of major points. Monday’s match continued a good run of form which had also seen Rowe impress in a last-minute call-up for the British Final at Belle Vue, where he finished in ninth place. Rowe said: “It was a good meeting for me against Oxford, we made some different changes to the bike and it worked out well.“I’m looking to improve every week, and I really want to keep pushing on and make that next step up.“It was good to race in the British Final, it wasn’t much notice but I was hoping I’d be in it, luckily enough I got in and sometimes it’s good when you don’t have much time to think about it! “I just went and raced my bike and did as well as I could, I tried some different things and it went pretty well.”The next test for the Stars is to look to transfer their home results into points on the road, and they have the opportunity to do so when they visit Birmingham on Monday. The two sides occupy the bottom two positions in the Premiership table but there will still be plenty of interest in the meeting with the arrival of Kvech for the Stars and current World No.2 Fredrik Lindgren making his home debut for the Brummies.And after that, Lynn look to complete a KO Cup upset at Sheffield next Thursday where they travel for the second leg of their semi-final with a ten-point advantage in a bid to set up a Final against Ipswich.
