Stock car meeting to celebrate long career of driver

Stock car and banger racing returns to King’s Lynn on Saturday (5pm) when the 1300 stock cars, two-litre stock cars and two-litre Banger War of the Worlds Team meeting takes place.It is a special night for the 1300 stock cars with the 42-year career of John Moat being celebrated.A special race will kick off the night’s entertainment featuring cars which were largely used 20 years ago such as Novas and Starlets before the more modern machinery will then be introduced.Garry Lusher has enjoyed plenty of success since moving into the 1300 stock cars at the start of this season and he will be looking for another good night from the yellow grade.The action in the two-litre stock cars will kick things off with the ladies charity race which will be taking place for the fourth time and has raised thousands of pounds for charity over the past few years.The ladies are getting sponsorship for Cancer Research for this year’s event and amongst the entries will be Amy Steele and Carla List who both have experience in the Lady bangers with Amy being a particularly strong performer.Willie Skoyles will be looking to continue his strong return back to the two-litre stock cars which saw him take his first victory since his return a fortnight ago at Northampton. He will be looking to continue that winning form on Saturday at his home track. Austen Freestone is in the middle of a great season and will be looking for another good points haul.Ashley Garrod will be in action for the Dover Boys in the two-litre Banger War of the Worlds team competition whilst Kieran Bowman will once again be leading the Predators into action.
