A goal in each half saw Reffley beat Watlington SSC Reserves 2-0 to lift the Solar Shed North West Norfolk League Division Cup final on Friday night.Precious Bisong gave the Division One high-flyers the lead before half-time and that’s how it remained until Jake Staunton struck in the second half to wrap up the victory at the Daly Group Stadium.Reffley enjoyed the better of the opening quarter as Staunton fired wide from the angle and Dion Evans was denied a shot on goal by a last-gasp tackle.Watlington goalkeeper James Harper pulled off a stunning save between the posts before Reffley struck the woodwork from the follow-up.The Reffley domination continued as Callum Clark denied Evans with another last-ditch tackle and Harper foiled Bisong with another fine save. The deadlock was finally broken six minutes before the break as Bisong fired Reffley in front following a goalmouth scramble in the Watlington box.Evans tried his luck with a spectacular overhead kick but it sailed over the top of the woodwork as Reffley held a 1-0 lead going into the break. The name of Watlington’s Jake Fenn went into the book for a late challenge early in the second half.Half-chances came and went at either end of the pitch before Fenn missed a golden opportunity by heading a free-kick straight into the arms of Reffley goalkeeper Paul Sainty in the 62nd minute. Nine minutes later, Reffley doubled their lead when Staunton fired in from the angle.Watlington tried their best to respond and Jimmy Brooks drew a good save from Sainty with 16 minutes left on the clock. Reffley managed the rest of the game well to see out a 2-0 win.The Charlie Day Cup draw was made at half-time with Clenchwarton Reserves being pitted against Dersingham A while West Winch or KLSC will entertain Marshland Reserves. The George Graver Cup draw is as follows: Reffley v Docking, Dersingham Reserves v AFC Lynn Reserves, The Woottons v West Lynn and Terrington v Clenchwarton.
