Bishop’s Stortford 0 King’s Lynn Town 2King’s Lynn Town put further daylight between themselves and the National League North drop zone with a fourth successive win tonight.A sixth goal in four games from striker Jonathan Margetts set Lynn on their way at already-relegated Bishop’s Stortford before substitute Ben Stephens wrapped up the points with a second goal in stoppage time.Lynn are now unbeaten in their last nine games and, since the home defeat to Darlington in early January, they have only lost once in 12 games. The home side were reduced to ten men for the final few minutes following a red card for Mark Haines. The win lifts the Linnets to 16th in the league standings and eight points above Rushall Olympic in the final relegation spot with seven games remaining.Stortford were the first team to get relegated in the top eight tiers of English football this season, not including four sides – Nuneaton Borough, Marske United, East Thurrock United and Hamworthy United – who have had their records expunged.Lynn’s latest success extended the Blues’ winless league run to 15 games.Next for Adam Lakeland’s side is a home fixture against league leaders Tamworth in a televised game on Saturday (12.30pm).Bishop’s Stortford: Giddens, Haines, Akolbire, Kassarate (Foxley 46), Robbins, Beadle, McGregor, Thomas, Charles, Greene, Alexander.
