Athletes battle it out at indoor meeting

The first open indoor athletics meeting took place at Alive Lynnsport last Sunday, where athletes from all across the region signed up to take part.

On offer to participants were 60m flat and hurdles races along with the long jump.

It was the first opportunity for athletes to gauge how their winter training is progressing.

There was the added advantage of the use of photo-finish equipment to give the most accurate times.

From a West Norfolk AC perspective, under-15 girl Rebecca Johnson had the standout performance of the day in the 60m hurdles.

Johnson finished first, setting a new club record, with a 9.61sec run. This beat a long-standing club record.
