Football was the winner as two of the town’s representatives battled it out in the Junior Premier League on Saturday.
An impressive King’s Lynn Town Under-15s outfit ran out convincing 18-0 winners over nine-man King’s Lynn Elite at West Lynn.
There was no doubting the extra class and quality of the Linnets against an Elite outfit who battled hard until the bitter end.
Town dominated the game from start to finish, but the most important aspect is the continued development of these young footballers across West Norfolk.
Joint Town manager Stuart Gallon said: “After winning the JPL last year and finishing third in the champions tournament for the best under-15s sides in England, we have had to strengthen this season going into a new JPL Premier Divison.
“We have brought in a lot of what I feel are the best players around and have a big squad this season with no weak links.
“We also have the luxury of players that can play in a number of positions on the pitch when called to do so.
“It’s gonna be a very hard and tough season for this group of lads as they will have to be on their game everytime they play a match as the standard of the opposition is so high.
“I’d back everyone of these players and Justin (Short) and myself are looking forward to seeing what this special group can do.”
The goals were shared around the King’s Lynn Town team in this derby.
The young Linnets played some lovely football and goalscorers were: Harrison Jones (2), Harry Grumitt (2), Alfie Gallon, Jack Sutton (3), Toms Barkans (2), Cavali Ashman (2), Conrad Brackenbury White, Finley Rawlins (2), Archie Hannant (3).
Man-of-the-match was Beau Loram who had a great game at the back also special mention to Archie Hannant who was exceptional when he moved into his new centre midfield role.
