A familiar face is back at The Walks with the new National League North season a little more than a week away.
The Linnets have appointed Rob Back as the club’s loan manager.
Back will be responsible for keeping an eye on the club’s young players who are out on loan, as well as scouting, for manager Mark Hughes.
Back was joint caretaker manager with Neil Fryatt after Simon Clark was relinquished of his duties just two months into the 2018/19 campaign.
During his brief spell at the helm, Back brought in striker Adam Marriott from Boston United, whose goals helped Lynn win promotion from the Southern League Central Premier Division.
Back was later appointed director of football under former boss Ian Culverhouse,
On Back’s return, Linnets owner Stephen Cleeve said: “I am delighted that Rob has returned to the club, he brings a wealth of experience and will create a fantastic link between the first team and those out on loan getting experience elsewhere.”
Back Tweeted: “Buzzing to be back. Never wanted to leave. It broke my heart but was the right thing to do at the time. What a club. Always bleed Blue and Gold.”
Tomorrow sees Lynn play their final pre-season friendly of the summer when ex-boss Gary Setchell brings his Corby Town side to The Walks.
