Danish ace leaves Lynn Stars

King’s Lynn rider Frederik Jakobsen has informed the club of his decision to stand down from racing in Great Britain.

The Dane was a successful signing for the MacInnes Stars in the second half of last season, but has struggled to recapture his best form in 2023.

He started the year well with 13+2 from seven rides at reserve at Wolverhampton and also won two races at Peterborough, but recent results have not gone to plan and his overall league average this term is just under five.

The Stars must use the rider-replacement facility in Tonight’s home clash with Wolverhampton (7.30pm), and Nicolai Klindt will take on the captaincy.
