Thousands headed to Fakenham Racecourse at the weekend for the Ladies Day Races.
The sun came out for the seven races on Sunday, which saw ladies wear their best dresses and fascinators to watch horses and jockeys sprint to the finish line.
The event, which first started in 2012, proved to be popular and saw a large number of people attend – according to the Racecourse’s chief executive David Hunter.
David said: “We had a great day, we were blessed with perfect weather.
“We had a great crowd with lots of ladies, and plenty of men, but more ladies. They were all really embracing the Jarrold Ladies day and it was a fantastic day.”
Coincidentally, Sunday was also Fakenham Racecourse’s oldest employee’s birthday, with Joe Allen turning 95.
1981 Grand National winner Bob Champion was also at the Ladies Day on his 75th birthday.
David added: “We didn’t have a single faller of a horse. All horses and jockeys went home safe and sound.”
The afternoon also saw competitions for the best dressed lady, the best hat and the best dressed couple.
The competition was judged by representatives from the event’s sponsor Jarrold and owner of KL Magazine Laura Dunn.
David said: “It was a really lovely day and I’m really pleased and grateful with the continuing generous sponsorship of Jarrold to make it such a success.”
Around 500 people also stayed to dance the evening away at a disco held at the racecourse.
