King’s Lynn Town Ladies rounded off their season with two home defeats in the space of a few days.
The ERWFL Premier Division side suffered a 4-1 reverse to Wroxham on Thursday night before AFC Sudbury wrapped up the league title with a convincing 5-0 victory at The Walks three days later.
It was no surprise to see AFC Sudbury pile on the pressure from the first whistle on Sunday.
Miagh Downey opened the scoring for Sudbury before further efforts from Holly Kennard and Sophie Jeffrey put the visitors firmly in control.
Ella Gavaghan, Jodie Hopkins and Oksana Imanalijeva all had half chances for the hosts who conceded a fourth close to the interval as Jeffey scored her second of the game.
Lynn were much better after the break and it took until the second minute of injury time for Sudbury to score their fifth through Ashtyn Newley.
This has been a very inconsistent season for the Linnets but three wins on the bounce towards the end
of the season helped them secure Premier Division status.
Manager Michael Allsebrook said “These are a fantastic group of players and staff but an even better group of people.
“I can’t thank people enough for giving us there time, effort and willingness to take on information and then go out on the pitch on Sunday and give us everything they’ve got.”

Against Wroxham it was the visitors who returned home with the Norfolk bragging rights.
Wroxham showed their intent and found the back of the net inside the first five minutes through a Fran Catchpole strike.
The goal seemed to be a wake up call as Lynn put in a period of sustained pressure with some good possession and quick passing.
Sam Davis and Lily Porter worked hard in the midfield while Oksana Imanalijeva refused to let the visiting defence settle.
The equaliser arrived after 20 minutes after Christina Vivas-Arthacho provided the assist for Jodie Hopkins.
Catchpole again found the net swiftly again for Wroxham with further goals from Hannah Waters and Lara Densley making it 4-1 at the break.
The weather caused difficulties for both sides and there were no further goals in the second half, despite half-chances for Hopkins and Imanalijeva.
Head coach JP said after the game: “There were some positives to take from the game.
“When we managed to maintain possession we made Wroxham work, but our passing let us down at times when we were not under any pressure, immediately giving Wroxham the upper hand.
“Wroxham took their chances and we were punished for it.”
Boss Allsebrook added: “Things didn’t go our way on another ghastly night! Wroxham did more to get the result.”
