King’s Lynn Town have regained top spot in the National League North as the title race took another dramatic twist this afternoon.
Defender Josh Coulson scored both goals from Michael Clunan corners as the Linnets secured a 2-0 victory over Alfreton at the Impact Arena.
A towering Coulson header from a Clunan delivery gave Lynn the lead going into the interval.
Twelve minutes from time Coulson repeated the dose with another header from a Clunan corner as Mark Hughes’ side made it back-to-back wins over the Easter weekend.
And while Lynn were collecting three points from a tough away fixture in Derbyshire, AFC Fylde suffered a 2-0 home defeat to Kidderminster Harriers to surrender the five-point lead they held over Lynn a fortnight ago.
Lynn now lead the Coasters – who still have a game in hand – by a point at the summit with three games to play.
Next up for the Linnets is a home game against Southport on Saturday.
