Cup fever hit the playing fields of West Norfolk last weekend with the introduction of this season’s George Graver Cup.
West Winch have found the season challenging to date but have now made it two wins from two with a thumping 7-0 victory over Clenchwarton.
They strolled into the quarter-finals thanks to goals from Charlie Arundell, James Simpson, Cameron Sayer, Kai Mead and Daniel Griffith.
Terrington also found the net on seven occasions as they travelled to Division Two side The Woottons.
A hat-trick from Jordan Davies complemented goals from Ellis Boxall, Jack Allen and Daniel Briggs.
Referee Ray Venemore issued a red card to Jason Watson of The Woottons whilst manager Craig Wylie was also reprimanded with a caution.
Weeting Saxons booked their league cup final spot in the previous weekend, but Saturday saw them on the losing side of a 6-2 game at Docking Rangers.
The home side secured their passage to the next round thanks to Brad Durham, Liam Spooner, Taylor King, Michael Wood and Jamie Tooth.
Weeting’s opposition in the league cup final will be Gayton Old Boys.
‘GOB’, as they like to be known, entertained AFC Lynn Napier Reserves and secured a 3-1 win thanks to Miles Easey and Ben Skipper, while Jacob Grimes hit the consolation goal for AFC.
Division One league leaders, Ingoldisthorpe travelled to the Alive Lynnsport 3G where they found themselves 2-0 down to KLSC Reserves within the first 15 minutes.
This deficit proved too much for Thorpe as KLSC finished 4-2 to the better thanks to Jack Davidson, Thomas Hazell and a Jay Russell brace.
The final Graver Cup fixture of the weekend saw a tightly contested game between Reffley and Watlington Reserves finish 1-1 with Eddie McGahren and Oliver Martin scoring for their respective sides.
A penalty shoot-out was in order with Watlington winning 5-4 from the spot.
There were two league fixtures in Division Two, with the first seeing Clenchwarton Reserves host Dersingham A.
Clenchwarton took advantage of a lacklustre Dersingham to take a two-goal lead through Cameron Smith and a penalty from Ashley Sheen.
Dersingham woke up and their man-of-the-Match, Billy Eastwood, with the help of good work from Gary Bowman and Sunny Devlin, scored a hat-trick, with Kris Smith scoring a fourth.
The second half was a very closer affair with Dersingham’s Connor Peck scoring from the penalty spot.
Finally, Reffley Reserves ran out 3-1 winners against KLSC A.
Ryan Barnes, Alfie Moulder and Bradley Wilson were on the scoresheet for Reffley’s second string.
