Find out all about The Making of King Edward VII and his Sandringham Estate
Join us for our annual lecture presented by Ben Colson, MBE, former senior guide at Sandringham House. Enjoy a glass of wine with your ticket purchase afterwards.
Edward VII is one of our lesser-known Kings, his reign being sandwiched between his mother, Queen Victoria’s long and glorious reign, and his second son, who became George V upon Edward’s death.
What we do know of him tends to be the salacious, yet at home, he was a social reformer, whilst a quiet, effective diplomat on the international stage.
Sandringham played a much larger part in his personality and reign than we tend to give it credit.
The talk will bring Edward’s upbringing and Sandringham together and show how they made him the person he was, the King who made the monarchy fit for a new century.
