King’s Lynn have attracted major sponsorship for their special Young Stars Pride of the East meeting, which concludes the season next Thursday (October 2).

Local apprenticeship and training firm Poultec, which has been a firm supporter of events at the Adrian Flux Arena in the past, are on board as title backers.

It’s a real boost for the club, which is putting on the meeting at the end of their 60th anniversary season, a campaign which saw their senior side make significant steps forward and reach a Cup Final.

Meanwhile, their Young Stars team were crowned National Development Trophy champions after a dominant run in that competition.

Co-promoter Dale Allitt said: “We have a long association with Poultec and it’s great to have Ed (Bales) and his team on board for this event.

“Being training providers makes them the perfect fit for this meeting, and we thank them for their support.

“Our 60th anniversary is something to celebrate, and after the success of the NDT team it’s great to have so many of the top youngsters racing in the meeting.”

Young Stars skipper Jody Scott and 15-year-old Cooper Rushen will be amongst the favourites, but they will face fierce competition.

Fellow youngster Will Cairns is making a real impact at the Championship level with Poole, whilst the likes of Jordy Loftus and Ryan Ingram have also impressed in their debut seasons.

Young Stars manager Jason Pipe said: “I’m hoping to see a decent crowd there for this meeting, and I think I’ve put a decent line-up together.

“All heats have now been sponsored, along with the meeting sponsor, all race jackets are now sponsored, and we have sponsors for the riders’ methanol and chain sprays.

“A massive thank you to all those who have come forward and sponsored, it’s a massive help when it comes to meetings like this.

“The weather is even looking good for next week, so I can’t wait for this one!”

The meeting will run over a 23-heat format with the champion decided in the Final, and admission prices have been set at £20 for adults, £5 for children (12-15) and under-12s free.
