The Woottons Football Club seized the opportunity to use the tail end of the summer weather to celebrate numerous achievements, notably the awarding of Norman Cesar as their honorary life president and Tim Kirby as club president.
Norman and Tim’s combined work at the club spans over half a decade, with Norman planting the initial seeds as the founder 41 years ago.
Among the visitors to the club recently was King’s Lynn Town captain Michael Clunan, who presented the two accolades.
Today, the club boasts a membership of around 180 players ranging from under 6 to veteran teams.
The club has recently appointed a number of new individuals to the committee to take the club forward in the coming years, under the stewardship of their new chairman, Tom Rudd.
Developments this year have seen the clubhouse benefit from a significant refurbishment, with the net result being hot food and drinks now on offer on match days.
To date, these additional facilities have been a huge success and long-term should help to underpin the financial security of the club.
The Woottons FC would like to thank everyone who came to support the event and made the night a great success, which raised funds for further enhancements of the club’s facilities.
