The annual seniors’ captain versus vice captain grudge match at Middleton Hall Golf Club saw the latter take the honours by ten shots.

Ten fourball matches were contested in a better-ball format, with every hole counting towards the final tally.

Competition was fierce throughout the day, but it was the vice captain’s side, led by Zoe Callender, who emerged as emphatic winners.

They secured a commanding 59-49 victory over captain Mark Platts’ team, a result that underlined their dominance across the board.

Afterwards, a delighted Callender received the coveted trophy from Platts, with the jubilant winning team gathering for a celebratory photo to mark their success.

The club’s monthly medal also produced some excellent scoring across both divisions.

In Division One, Nigel Ward claimed top spot with an impressive net 69, finishing two shots clear of the field.

The runner-up position was decided on countback, with Richard Barker edging out Lee Hasbury, both carding a net 71.

In Division Two, Steven Embleton returned the standout score of the day, securing victory with a superb net 67.

Peter Bowers claimed second place with a net 71, while Derek Smith completed the podium with a solid net 73.
