Three Hunstanton bowlers made their way to Leamington Spa in August to represent Norfolk in the National Bowls Finals.

Margaret Hunt, Mo Stokes and Debra Wright faced Nottinghamshire in the first round of the triples and, after emerging victorious, were drawn against a strong Essex block.

Unfortunately, this proved the end of the journey for Norfolk but they put up a good fight.

The Tuesday afternoon friendly league started this year, has now concluded and the final result will be announced at the presentation lunch on Sunday, October 19, when awards will also be presented to the winners of the club competitions.

During the past month, friendly matches have continued with games against Gorefield, Streatham, and Thornham.

It was particularly heartening to welcome Thornham for the first time in what was a new fixture for both clubs, but the rematch has already been arranged for 2026.

Played in excellent weather and thoroughly enjoyed by all those involved, these are moments when friendships are forged.

As the season draws to its conclusion, the Friday evening socials will continue in the clubhouse.

Outdoor bowling may be over for another year but the club carries on.
