King’s Lynn Soccer Club held an in-house tournament with the U18 Lionesses and Ladies team combining to compete throughout the day.

Every game was closely contested during a competitive day of football, with the final being a particularly tight match that showed real quality from both sides.’

Ellie Bennington and Rachel Skinner, joint managers of the ladies team, said: “It was lovely to see both teams participate competitively together, creating a positive cohesion to support our women’s/girls’ pathway.

“It fills us with pride to see that our club could create a tournament using just two teams.

“As managers leading the upcoming local ladies side, we have seen a growth in both the senior and youth teams with the ladies team going from strength to strength, growing not only in numbers but also in confidence, skill and creativity.”

Liz Puckova, captain of KLSC Ladies, added: “It benefits the Ladies side towards their pre-season training and helps prepare us for the upcoming season.

“It also allowed us to maintain the close bond with the U18 team, especially with the players who intend to join us in the following season.”

Paul Collier, manager of KLSC U18 Lionesses, said: “It was great for our U18 girls and ladies teams to join together for a fantastic in-house five-a-side tournament full of fun, energy, and great football.

“It was a brilliant celebration of grassroots girls’ football, and it really showcases the talent within our teams and the passion KLSC has when it comes to promoting women’s football.”
