Grimston Cricket Club have been crowned champions of division four in only their second year back in the Norfolk Cricket League.
A resounding win against a spirited Sandringham and Dersingham 3rd team secured enough points for the club to win the league with two games remaining.
Having won the toss, Grimston CC chose to bat first.
Tim Tilbrook and Liam Woodcock made rapid progress, scoring 46 and 55 runs respectively.
Mark Tilbrook was next to the crease and further burnished his credentials as one of Norfolk’s finest batters, scoring 187 from 96 balls.
Ben Wilson also added 72 runs to the total, with Grimston finishing on 398/5 from their 45 overs.
Sandringham had a mountain to climb and with Miles Harris in blistering form, taking five wickets and a run out, they could never get out of first gear, being bowled out for 50.
Stanley James top-scored with 18.
Club chairman Tim Tilbrook reflected on an extraordinary season for the black and gold, saying: “It’s an honour to serve this club, and to see so many people come down to enjoy our success makes all the hard work worthwhile.
“We are looking forward to Division Three in 2026 and seeing how far this extraordinary team can go.”
Grimston CC partied long into the night, with a live DJ, barbecue and ice cream van adding a festival atmosphere to proceedings.
More than 100 friends, family, and supporters came down to enjoy the evening, with some sore heads reported the following morning.
