August sees one of the highlights of the junior sailing season in West Norfolk as Snettisham Beach Sailing Club host their Cadet Weeks 1 & 2.
It’s two weeks of fun, sailing and life skills development for young people from complete Novice Sailor to Championship Racer and on to RYA Dinghy Instructor and Race Coach qualification.
Week one took place earlier this month with week two getting under way on Monday.
Snettisham have also been recognised as a British Sailing Pathway Club, testament to its commitment to supporting young sailors and their racing endeavours.
Cadet Weeks 1 & 2 form a significant part of the foundation of junior sailing at Snettisham, introducing and developing new sailors to the challenges and rigours of taking charge of a boat and its crew.
Hosted during the school holidays, it featured around 100 children aged from six to 17 from all backgrounds and abilities.
As a British Sailing Pathway Club, Snettisham aims to support young sailors to develop their skills and enthusiasm further into sail racing.
