Fakenham Town and Downham Town earned themselves second bites of the cherry in the FA Cup this afternoon, while Heacham exited the competition at the first hurdle.
The Thurlow Nunn Premier Division Ghosts came from behind to draw 1-1 with Step 4 Wroxham in their Extra Preliminary Round clash at the Daly Group Stadium, while ten-man Downham Town did the same at Isthmian League North rivals Mildenhall Town.
Ryan Hawkins gave Wroxham the lead in the first half before Jake Watts scored his fifth goal in three games in the second half to earn Andy Cunningham’s side a replay at the Ginger Pickle on Tuesday night.
In Suffolk, Mildenhall’s 25th-minute lead was cancelled out by Eoin McQuaid eight minutes later.
Downham’s Simon Bird was sent-off for picking up a second yellow card after the break, but Dale Stokes’ side held on despite the hosts having an extra man advantage for a long period of the second half.
Tuesday night’s replay will also take place at the Riverside Stadium.
Over at Station Road, Harvey Easton fired the Magpies in front against the higher-league Jockeys midway through the second half.
But former Linnet Josh Coulson equalised three minutes later before Josh Lee netted the winner ten minutes from time.
It was cruel on Heacham, who were playing in their first-ever cup tie on home soil.
