Riley Gray enjoyed a fine debut as West Norfolk Athletic Club’s Quadkids took to Yarmouth for the fourth match in the series.
Again, taking on four events each – a long run, sprint, jump, and a throw – the weather was predicted to be 30+ degrees, but thankfully, a cooler day beckoned in Yarmouth, making for some great performances.
Appearing for the U13 boys, Riley absolutely smashed his goal in the 800m, running 3.49.
He also achieved his best points in the howler throw with 18.00.
Joining him were Samuel Howard, who finished fourth overall in the age group, with a PB in the 800 in 3.06 and the howler with 28.94 and a big 188 points.
Rhys Howard made it a trio of 800m PBs with 3.13 and also had a long jump PB with 3m18.
In the U11 boys, Arthur Hollingsworth once again got a huge amount of points in the 600m with 69 and 2.01, so close to his PB.
He also got an impressive 58 in the howler with 29.23 and 209 points overall, the highest of the WN athletes on the day.
Abe Gosnell bagged himself a PB in the 600m with 2.38 for 31 points, equalling this in the long jump with 1m45.
Four U11 girls took part, with Chloe Gayton achieving a fantastic 13.7 in the sprint despite being one of the youngest.
She also had a great 600m run in 2.43.
Teagon Thorne got a huge PB in the howler of 22m44, which gave her a big 44 points and she also got 36 in the long jump with 1.55.
Jess Watts got PBs in both the 600 with 2.19 and the howler with 17.70.
Kacey Gray followed suit with PBs in both, with 2.28 and 17m.
The juniors finished their day with a traditional trip to the snails ride along the beachfront.
The club is looking forward to the final Quadkids of the season, in Lynn, this coming Saturday.
