The third quad kids event in the 2025 series took place on Saturday at the UEA, in conjunction with the Norfolk Schools’ Championships.West Norfolk AC had a great turnout of athletes across both the under-11 and under-13 age groups.Arthur Hollingsworth and William Ward flew the flag for the under-11 boys. Both had a brilliant day and, as fantastic long distance runners, scored their best points on the 600m race.Hollingsworth finished as one of the fastest finishers in 2.06 with Ward, aged only eight, finished in an impressive 2.22. Hollingsworth amassed 200 points overall including a big 52 in the howler with 26m26 for overall 12th. Ward had his highest points yet with 140 and after his 600m, his best performance was also the howler with 18m34.Jess Watts, Kacey Gray, Teagan Thorne and Meave Allitt competed for the under-11 girls. Allitt continues to increase her overall points with every meeting, with PBs in the 600m and howler of 2.26.1 and 12.04 respectively and a big 44 points in the 600m.Gray achieved her highest points yet, breaking the 150 barrier and got PBs in both the 600 with 2.34, the sprint with 13 dead, and the LJ with 1m53. Thorne also bagged herself some PBs with 2.42 in the 600m and 15.93 in the howler, just one point shy of her overall points PB too.Watts also got herself a PB in the LJ with 1m60 and got a big 50 points in the 600m with 2.22 and 148 points overall. The under-13 boys were represented by Liam Allitt and Samuel Howard, with Howard making his quad kid debut this season.Both had a brilliant day with 190 and 195 points respectively. Liam Allitt got an incredible 75 points in the 800m with 2.45 and his next best was 44 points in the howler with 26m55 giving him fifth overall. Howard was consistent across all four events with his highest also in the 800 with 3.07 for 53 points and then the 100m sprint with 15.5 for fourth overall. The juniors are putting all their hard work at training into practice and their dedication is paying off.
