Snettisham sailors soar

Snettisham Beach Sailing Club’s Toby and Faith Turner battled it out at the Midlands Area Championships last weekend at Draycote Water Sailing Club.Toby achieved no lower than second place in all eight races to sail himself to victory and claim the sought-after title.The conditions were top end on Saturday, dropping more on Sunday, but Toby, who is sponsored by Rooster and is one of their Rooster Riders, showed his skills across the variety of conditions and wind shifts.He said: “There are some big names on the trophy and I am proud to add mine to it.”Faith picked up race victories herself against her brother to finish fourth overall and claim the top female sailor title.She said: “My starts were the best I have ever done and I held two race leads against the strong fleet.“It was tough competition out there and two very long, tiring days.”Snettisham Beach Sailing Club are hosting the Eastern Area Championships this weekend.Snettisham is an RYA Pathway club and welcomes new members of all ages and abilities.
