It was a record-breaking Saturday at Lynn parkrun, with 70 participants achieving personal bests – none more notable than the first finishers.Leading the field was Ben Rogers, who stormed home in a new PB of 17:28, a remarkable achievement that set the tone for the rest of the event.Equally impressive was the performance of Felicity Allen, the first female to cross the line.Competing in the JW10 age group, Felicity ran an extraordinary 19:40, not only a PB but also an inspiring result from one of the event’s youngest athletes. The final finisher, Sally Claridge, also joined the PB list with a time of 1:09:40, embodying the inclusive and encouraging spirit of parkrun, where every runner, regardless of pace, is celebrated.Despite forecasts of stormy weather, 410 determined runners still gathered in The Walks. This week saw 25 first-time participants, including 14 visitors to Lynn.Among the returning guests was visually impaired runner Robert Taylor, supported by his guide Nik Bryan, both warmly welcomed back by the community. Milestone achievements were celebrated for Arran Reeve and Claire Whitehouse on their 100th runs, and Nic Bensley on his 300th. As part of National Volunteer Week, 30 volunteers made the event possible by stepping into key roles, from marshalling to timekeeping.Lynn parkrun remains a free, friendly, and accessible 5K event held every Saturday and is open to all.
