County joy for West Norfolk youngsters

Under-14 players from West Norfolk became the first youth team from the club to lift the County Cup since 2018 as Wymondham were beaten on home turf.The final was part of Norfolk Rugby’s annual ‘Big Weekender’ at Gatehouse Lane in what is West Norfolk Rugby Club’s centenary season.West Norfolk started strongly, displaying a well-organised approach and dominating the rucks.Despite Wymondham’s solid defence, West played with intensity, looking to make the breakthrough.Clever kicks drove West forward, culminating in a brilliant try. The conversion was coolly executed, putting West ahead 7-0.The battle was fierce, with both teams showing immense grit and passion.Wymondham tried to spread the ball and create opportunities, but West Norfolk’s defence was relentless.The home side’s gameplay was a masterclass in teamwork and precision. Their slick, well-drilled manoeuvres kept the pressure on Wymondham throughout the match.Courageous charges and savvy offloads, combined with fierce forward attacks, showcased their determination and skill.
